Smoko Motorsports Dominates D Street - AZ Solo Spring Series

The 2023 AZ Solo Spring autocross series proved to be an unforgettable season for Smoko Motorsports, as they competed in the highly competitive D Street class and secured an impressive win in all four events. With outstanding performances from their talented drivers, Morgan Lee and Ivan Mendoza, the team showcased their exceptional skills and determination throughout the exhilarating series.

The series kicked off with the first event in January, where Smoko Motorsports' driver, Morgan Lee, set the tone for what was to come. With precision and speed, Morgan delivered a stunning performance, clinching the top spot on the podium and leaving a lasting impression on their rivals. The victory was a testament to Morgan's commitment and preparation, setting the stage for the team's success in the following events. Additionally to his class win Morgan took 10th on PAX index out of 133 drivers.

In February, the second event of the series saw Morgan Lee continue to dominate the competition, further solidifying Smoko Motorsports' position as a force to be reckoned with. His exceptional driving skills and ability to navigate the challenging course with finesse earned him another first-place finish, leaving his competitors trailing behind. With some additional competition in February Morgan finished in 17th on PAX out of 143 drivers.

As the series moved into its third event, Smoko Motorsports was exited to bring team sponsor, The Shop Beer Co. along to ride along. The Shop Beer Co handed out trophies and beers to all the competitors who made it to the podium. Morgan Lee, yet again, displayed his remarkable prowess, securing a third consecutive win, and showcasing his dedication to the sport and the team. With this third and final win Morgan was able to clench the class series win for Smoko Motorsports. Team driver, Ivan Mendoza stepped into the drivers seat for the first time this year and finished 2nd in class. Morgan finished 26th on PAX and Ivan finished 33rd in a field of 140.

Event four, held in April, presented an unexpected twist for Smoko Motorsports as Morgan Lee was unable to attend due to his travels across the globe. Nonetheless, the team had a worthy backup in the form of Ivan Mendoza. Ivan proved his mettle by rising to the occasion and conquering the event with remarkable skill. Not only did he secure the victory, but finished 39th on PAX in a field of 144.

Throughout the series, intense competition was witnessed at each event, with drivers Tanner Nolen, Christopher Simons, and Mathew Penny fiercely vying for the top spot each month. Despite the challenging competition, Smoko Motorsports remained determined and focused on their goal of claiming victory in the D Street class.
